THERMOWOOD®

It's NEW, It's Environmentally Friendly and now available here in the UK!

What is Thermowood ®?

Thermowood is produced by treating softwood in special chamber kilns at high temperatures plus 210 degrees.

The cellular structure changes during the heat treatment so that the moisture content is reduced by up to 50%. As a result Thermowood is more stable than normal wood in changeable climatic conditions.

Thermowoods high resistance to moisture or decay causing fungi, makes it an excellent material for use as a cladding.

Environmental Features:
Thermowood production process uses vapour and steams. NOT CHEMICALS that will have detrimental effect on the environment, nor are foreign substances added to the wood during the treatment process. Cutting waste can be burnt or disposed of safely without causing pollution.

Surface Treatment:
Thermowood is a better base for a surface treatment than normal softwood because there is much less movement in it. Thermowood can be left untreated to turn grey in colour if a more natural effect is required.

Modern styles of architecture often call for highly durable, natural, sustainable, environment friendly, materials - but sometimes the cost is too high.

Thermowood is the value for money alternative, heralding a new era in building design and use of timber in construction.

Independent research has proven the exceptionally good insulation value of timber when used as a structural cladding product - helping architects and other specifiers achieve good u-values whilst still retaining the distinctive good looks of modern building design.
