Key properties

Accoya Timber Cladding offers unrivalled benefits in the cladding market, a 50 year warranty is available on the product when installed above ground. Starting life as a fast-growing pine tree (Pinus radiata) grown in well managed forests, the tree is harvested once it reaches maturity at around the 30 year mark.

At this point the acetylation process using acetic acid begins. Once completed this process leaves us with a high-performance modified timber perfect for timber cladding. Accoya wood is highly rot-resistant and very stable across varying climates around the globe. As the process simply increases the levels of already present chemicals within the structure of the wood, there are no toxic substances introduced. The change occurs throughout the wood, right to its core, allowing the same performance to be met however many times Accoya is cut, planed, or drilled.

Thorough real-world testing has been conducted over many years on Accoya. This in turn means industry-leading warranties of up to 50 years can be achieved.

When Accoya is used for timber cladding on an external façade, it can be left to weather naturally to a silver grey, or is a great species for coating thanks to the stability it offers.
