Key properties

British grown Larch timber cladding is a cost effective, low carbon option for a sustainable timber cladding on your build. Offered as a kiln dried product, British grown offers a more rustic appearance with varying grain and a medium/ high frequency of knots within the grade.

When freshly installed, the species will range in colour from pink to brown through to white in areas. There may be the odd dead knot in the product, along with some resin pockets, which is perfectly normal in UK grown Larch.

Medium movement in the timber means we advise Halflap profiles rather than T&G, or PSE boards. This option is more forgiving of movement and will help with both the performance and appearance of your British Larch timber cladding façade.

Part of our Heritage Collection, this is a moderately durable timber, perfectly suited to external timber cladding applications. Left uncoated, homegrown Larch weathers down to a silver/ grey (patina) appearance.

Fixings

Fixings

Stainless Steel fixings are recommended, reducing the opportunity for any extractives or tannins from the timber to react with the fixing. Either screws, or nails are suitable, this will be led by the requirements for your specific project.

We provide full fixing and installation information including batten specification. As an overview the following guidance should be met:

Nail or screw dimensions should be relative to the thickness of the board you are installing and be able to adequately secure the cladding. Annular ring shank fixings are recommended for softwood cladding:
