  • Can you paint shingles and shakes?

    Yes, using a specially formulated water-based paint. Or Vincent Timber can factory paint them for you before delivery.

  • Do you deliver to me?

    We have our own fleet of vehicles for delivery across the United Kingdom, we also partner with outside network hauliers to widen that reach ensuring we can cater for your needs with various vehicle options, finding the right size, and offload capabilities for you.

  • Do you offer custom colours?

    Yes, our Cape Cod is available in any colour, which is then stored in an archive for future use.

  • Do you offer set lengths?

    Yes, we can offer set length requirements to help reduce your wastage on site

  • Do you offer the fixings for the decking?

    Yes, if you are looking to go for the secret fixed profile, we carry the secret fixed clips/fixings suitable for fixing the product with.

  • Does timber cladding meet fire regulations?

    Most of our species can meet Euro Class B with an additional treatment process, get in touch for more details and to find out which options are suited to your project.

  • How do I install the timber I bought from you?

    We supply installation guides which will give you step by step instructions on the best way to install the cladding

  • How long will Sivalbp cladding last?

    Sivalbp is manufactured from naturally durable species’, all from well managed forests. The sacrificial coating’s life expectancy varies depending on elevation and the amount of sunlight it’s exposed to. However, depending on species, life expectancy is more than 25 to 40 years.

  • I want a specific profile, but cannot see it on the website?

    We have a full tool room on site where we can make the tooling required for your bespoke Timber Cladding Profile

  • Is there a minimum order requirement?

    We can produce from 1LM, to 10,000LM, however on smaller volumes there may be additional machine set up charges applied, if you have a small enquiry, please get in touch as we may be able to offer a stock product option for you.

  • Is Timber from Vincent Timber sustainable?

    Yes, Vincent Timber have been awarded COC (Chain of Custody), we offer PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) and FSC (Forest Steward Control) certified timbers.

  • Is your decking reversible?

    Yes, with our Thermowood decking we can offer in a reversible profile so you can choose between with face/side you prefer. We can offer it smooth both sides or grooved one side and smooth reverse.

  • Is your decking suitable for secret fixing?

    Yes, we can offer both face fixed and secret fixed decking options depending on your requirements.

  • What are louvres?

    An architectural feature of a building designed to admit natural light and ventilation whilst keeping excessive sun and heat out of a building.

  • What are shingles and shakes used for?

    They’re often chosen for prestigious buildings or for the conservation of historic buildings – they make an ideal choice for church spires or bell towers. More domestically, they’re used for the roofs of stables, summer houses, gazebos etc.

  • What are the advantages of wood shingles and shakes?

    One advantage is that wood is one of the best materials for insulation, perfect for adding a little warmth to seating or storage areas within your garden.

  • What are the options for louvres?

    Available in aerofoil, rectangular, bullet and trapezoidal profiles. We can also provide perforated options to help balance shading, light and external views.

  • What are your lead times?

    Our current leads times:

    Ex. stock, 5 days

    Machined to order, 7-10 working days

    Additional processes such as fire treatment, coatings, cross cutting, drilling, and notching will increase lead times

  • What is the difference between brise soleil and louvres?

    They are the same thing, just different names. Brise soleil is from the French language, meaning “sun breaker”.

  • What is the difference between shakes and shingles?

    Shingles are sawn on both sides creating a thinner butt end, whereas shakes are sawn on one side, hand split on the other, making them thicker than shingles.

  • What lengths is your Thermowood decking available in?

    Our Thermowood Decking is currently available in 3.9m, 4.2m and 4.5m lengths.

  • Which species of timber do you stock?

    We keep a large variety of timber onsite including Cedar, Douglas Fir, Homegrown species and thermally modified options as well as some exclusives like Cape Cod and Sivalbp

  • Why is the coating warranty on Cape Cod so much longer than other timbers’ coatings?

    Solid colour and semi-transparent Cape Cod cladding comes with 15- and 8-years’ warranty respectively. This is down to the strict factory processes the timber goes through prior to coating. Only the highest grade of raw material is selected. Any textured finish to the timber will allow the coating to perform to its highest ability. The coating itself is a water-based acrylic paint which is oven dried after being applied.

  • Why use brise soleil?

    Brise soleil can naturally stop a building overheating and will help reduce long term heating costs whilst helping the environment.
